Law No. 14 of 2008 has guaranteed all citizens of Indonesia to enjoy the right to public information, and it could be obligation by public bodies to provide public information to citizens, whether requested or not.

Political parties as stated in the Freedom of Information Law is a public agency and shall provide public information under their control, even Freedom of Information Law specifically regulate what information should be provided by the political parties.

The case of the citizens in NTB (Suhardi), Information Commission of NTB and Central Information Commission, which sued civilly to the District Court by the DPD Golkar of NTB and should pay damages of IDR 1 billion for not acting in good faith due to requesting details information of the financial report party from 2011-2012 (which comes from membership fees, donations lawful and assistance budget), details of the balance sheet and budget realization reports, details of the cash flow report and notes on the financial report, the details of general report programs and activities of the party in 2011 and 2012 , structure and management of the party (Article 15 of Freedom of Information Law). It has shown us how closed and pragmatic these parties in this State.

FOINI as coalition that concern to the openness issue assess that; First, the action by DPD Golkar of NTB is a form of closure and anti-openness. Second, a lawsuit filed by DPD Golkar of NTB is misdirected and Mataram District Court should reject the claim. Third, the decision of Information Commission of NTB was correct and should be adhered to and confirmed at subsequent levels. Fourth, claims for compensation that requested by DPD Golkar of NTB through their lawyer is a form of intimidation to the citizens.

FOINI Coalition also appealed to all Indonesian citizens to not to be afraid of intimidation attempt on applicant both morally and materially as has been done by DPD Golkar of NTB with demanding compensation of IDR 1 billion. And Invite all citizens of Indonesia as a form of social sanction for not providing support and voting rights to closed and anti-openness parties.
