OGI Invites Public to Give Aspirations for 2016-2017 Action Plans
3 Desember 2015
Jakarta (03/12) - Open Government Indonesia (OGI00 National Secretariat invited all people to participate in the formulation of OGI Actio Plan 2016-201. “This is the beginning of a long work on how we reframe OGI. We need to be serious. The action plan formulation involves all, including the public,” said Yanuar Nugroho, Deputy of Presidential Staff.
Yanuar said that people would be invited through offline and online means starting from December 4 to December 13, 2015. The secretariat actively visited local governments and to gather aspiration. This December, three regions were visited: Bojonegoro Regency, Makassar City and Aceh Province. Regions were selected based on regional representation criteria, representation in the government-level and dynamics of collaboration between the people and the government as well as strong commitment from regional heads.
Through online means, people can express their aspirations by visiting OGI’s website in seven clusters of issues: public services, budget transparency, law enforcement, environment and natural resources, openness, parliament, village development and data governance.
The aspirations that have been gathered will be consolidated by OGI National Secretariat which consists of ministries, local governments and civil societies. There are three main criteria in selecting aspirations: significant, realistic ad asset-based. “These criteria are to anticipate the large number of aspirations and we have to prioritize. We will also keep up-to-date on current development for the action plan formulation,” said Mujtaba Hamdi from Medialink..
The initiative to gather aspirations marked a new history for OGI. “This is new and very good. I am very happy to be able to gather aspirations and express them openly,” said Sugeng Bahagio from International NGO Forum for Indonesia Development INFID).
According to Sugeng, institutionalizing participation is an important step to more inclusive development. OGI adopts the principle of co-creation in formulating their action plan, which means that the action plan is determined together with the government and civil societies. The process is also open and can be monitored.
